Synopsis

The Southern Landing Facility, situated opposite the M+ Museum, is scheduled to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a project budget of HK$425 million. This new public pier may introduce ferry services to and from Central Pier 8, and will serve as a new berthing point for water taxis, replacing the current Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter Landing No. 2. Members of the public will also be able to make reservations for private vessel berthing. The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority plans to launch innovative tourism products, such as maritime sightseeing and museum package deals, offering visitors a unique cultural experience by sea. The launch of this facility will undoubtedly establish a crucial transport hub for the West Kowloon Cultural District, seamlessly integrating arts and culture with maritime transport, whilst injecting fresh vitality into Hong Kong's tourism sector.
